Prior to that career he was known for building twin 1,000 horsepower offshore boat engines as well as numerous 700+ horsepower small block race car engines! What makes Jim’s V-Twin Performance Lifters different? For starters, the valving of Jim’s lifter is setup for 20w50 oil, not 5 or 10 weight traditional car engine oil! The “bird beak” area of the lifter body is how the lifter fills with oil. Jim’s hand picked lifter body has been designed to scavenge the most amount of oil on the down stroke of the lifter to keep it constantly pressurized with oil. The wheel of the lifter is mounted on a hardened axle with a full roller bearing for support. The body of the lifter has the most surface area possible to keep itself stable while moving up and down in the lifter bore.
